Company of Experts, Inc. seeks out the most qualified individuals to train and facilitate within their specialized subject field. Each trainer has a strong commitment to the theory and practice of their subject area; bringing a balance of education, consulting and on-the-job experience to bring unique, real-world richness to the workshops. Company of Experts, Inc. is known for delivering exceptional training and consulting services to hundreds of organizations, groups, and individuals in corporate and academic sectors and has received 5-Star ratings for their on-site trainings and programs.

Company of Experts → Past and present

In 1982, Nancy Stetson became an administrator at College of Marin. Five years after taking this position, Nancy began to receive requests from community colleges for help in strategic planning, for workshops in Classroom Assessment Techniques (CAT), and other areas in which she had developed expertise. Occasionally the requests would require two people and/or an expertise that Nancy did not possess. As a result, Nancy began reaching out to other consultants for help. Over time it evolved into a network of people throughout the U.S. and Canada who had expertise in a particular subject area and who also were excellent consultants, facilitators, keynoters, or trainers. This network of consultants, primarily educators, officially became Company of Experts in 1989.

In 1990, Nancy met Charles Miller through their joint involvement in staff and organizational development. Charles Miller, a colleague at Santa Rosa Junior College, was very well known and respected through the U.S. and Canada for his work with the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) and for his statewide leadership role in staff and organizational development in California. Charles began as an Expert on Call and in 1992 he became Vice-President and co-owner of the Company. From 1992 to 2005, the shared knowledge, skills, and abilities of Nancy and Charles enabled Company of Experts to continue attracting excellent Experts on Call, as well as hundreds of clients. For 16 years Company of Experts operated out of a garage that was converted into an office.  It had no employees, only independent contractors - including the corporate officers.

Nancy and Charles crossed paths with Kathy Becker and Jim Pulliam in 2001. At the time, Jim and Kathy were working for the Copper Mountain Community College District; Jim was the Superintendent/President and Kathy was the Human Resources Officer. Kathy’s role at the college included staff and professional development. She enrolled several employees in a two week workshop series. The trainers for this workshop were none other than Charles Miller and Nancy Stetson.

Several years passed, Jim had retired and started his own consulting company and Kathy was continuing her work at Copper Mountain College. Kathy heard that Nancy and Charles were selling Company of Experts and saw it as a great opportunity. The idea of making a difference excited Kathy and Jim. In January 2005, Nancy and Charles sold Company of Experts to Kathy and Jim. When the corporation was sold, the Company had 50 Experts on Call throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Kathy and Jim believe Company of Experts’ strength results from a strong set of values - people first - and continue to look for Experts on Call that believe and represent those same values. Company of Experts prides itself on being learner and community centered.

Kathy and Jim have expanded and evolved their workshops to include the use of technology which has allowed Company of Experts to offer their workshops online.

What lies ahead

Company of Experts, Inc. wished to make their recognized training and consulting services more accessible and affordable to organizations and individuals and conceded online learning as the solution. Company of Experts Inc. has teamed up with Distance Edu Learning, Inc. to create a new system for organizations and individuals to, within their budget and time, further their growth and advancement through interactive online workshops.

Company of Experts, Inc., with the help of Fintelo^TM, now offers their renowned workshops in a variety of ways: on-site, hybrid, or online, providing users with the option to decide which learning method would work best for their organization and/or individual. Company of Experts online workshops also provides its users with the flexibility to complete their training at a time and place that is most convenient for them.
